Nik Dyer is a garden coach and designer with an extensive background in organic agriculture, horticulture and permaculture. He has a BA in Agroecology from UC Santa Cruz and a MA in Humanities, Leadership and Ecological Agriculture from New College of California. He is the founder of Purple Carrot, a garden education and design company focused on teaching people all the skills they need to grow food, improve their water security, and protect and enhance biodiversity. His passions and specialties include: gathering wild mushrooms, propagation, fruit tree care, vegetable gardening, empowering people to live outside ‘the system’, cooking with butter and, starting this year, raising hogs.
