Giants County Fair June 11-20, 2010

Urban Edibles will be giving an educational talk on growing food in San Francisco at 1:30 pm on June 20 as part of the Giants County Fair "Urban Eats" program.  The Urban Eats program is the work of CUESA--The Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture--which is dedicated to promoting a sustainable food system through the operation of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and its educational programs.

Permaculture designer and educator Kevin Bayuk of the San Francisco Urban
Permaculture Guild and edibles-focused landscape designers Eric Beeghly and
Catherine Butler share their perspectives on designing perennial edible plantings
into residential landscapes and offer suggestions for techniques and cultivars
uniquely suited to zone 17 and the urban environment. Kevin and Catherine also
offer expertise in designing and evaluating gardens from the broad perspective of
permaculture, while Eric and Catherine can share strategies for attracting and
serving clients in this burgeoning market of home-grown food! Panel discussion
answering your questions follows their presentations.
